Warhawks remain undefeated
The No. 3-ranked UW-Whitewater men’s basketball team made sure it would pack an undefeated record with its luggage after Christmas.
The Warhawks went 10-for-10 from the free-throw line in the final minute to pull away from visiting Augustana for a 77-66 nonconference victory Tuesday night.
Whitewater (11-0) play Whitman College in Spokane, Wash., on Monday and Whitworth College the next night.
Dupree Fletcher went 10-for-10 from the line and finished with a game-high 21 points for the Warhawks. Whitewater was 26 of 29 from the line for the game.
Dustin Mitchell added 18 points and seven rebounds, while Phil Negri scored 15 points and made all eight of his free throws.
