— Carbon monoxide is a contributing factor to the evacuation of Beloit's Countryside Village apartments this week.

Fire Chief Brad Liggett says mold is also a major problem in the complex.

Many of the tenants complained of lack of heat.

The city joined with social service agencies to find shelter for those displaced by the evacuation.

Suggest removal

I saw on the news last night that the owner lives in Chicago and doesn't make it up very often to look at his property. They also said on the news that they tried to reach the landlord, but he couldn't be reached for comment. Gee, I wonder why! They don't care that people are homeless just in time for Christmas. The landlord and the owner are both cowards.
