Oregon edges past Fort Atkinson

One of Fort Atkinson High School’s best efforts of the season wasn’t quite enough for the Blackhawks in Badger South boys basketball Tuesday night.

Jason Hinz made three of four free throws down the stretch to give visiting Oregon a 49-46 victory in a game that went down to the last shot.

Fort Atkinson got the ball with 22 seconds remaining couldn’t get the game-tying three-point goal.

Adam Gorman set the pace with 13 points as the Panthers evened their record at 2-2 in the conference and 3-3 overall. Brady Sexton also had for Fort Atkinson (0-6, 0-3).

-- Monroe 60, Edgewood 50—Monroe (5-1, 4-1) got the early jump on visiting Madison Edgewood (5-2, 3-1) and won the battle for first place in the Badger South.

Michael Barrett and Bryan Tordoff each had 13 points to pace the Cheesemakers, who led 32-18 at halftime.

Christiaan Wabers had 12 points for the Crusaders.

-- Sun Prairie 54, Stoughton 44—Sun Prairie (6-1) used a 22-13 surge in the fourth quarter to notch a nonconference win over the visiting Vikings (4-4).

Stoughton led 24-16 at halftime.

Jordan Noskowiak scored 17 points, Nick Fuller had 14, and Michael Boos added 11 as Sun Prairie offset a 19-point performance by Stoughton’s Eric Gerber.
