WCLO's Steve Benton reports Beloit police are investigating a reported home invasion and armed robbery Sunday night on the city's east side

RSS

— Beloit police are looking for a subject accused of an armed home invasion Sunday night on the city's east side.

Police say the masked and armed suspect entered a home in the 1500 block of Henry Avenue and demanded cash. An undetermined amount of cash was taken. Beloit police captain Bill Tyler says the 35 year old victim was able to wrestle the gun away from the intruder, and at some point, shots were fired in the apartment during the struggle. No injuries are reported.

Police obtained a search warrant and conducted an investigation at the scene. As a result, the victim was arrested for possession of cocaine and other drug related charges. Tyler says the incident remains under investigation.
