Craig gymnasts fall in league opener
Becky Schneider won the balance beam event, but it wasn't enough to keep Janesville Craig from falling at Middleton, 132.4-129.2, in a Big Eight Conference gymnastics opening meet Thursday night.
Schneider scored an 8.75 to finish first in the balance beam. She added second-place finishes in the bars (8.975) and floor exercise (8.7) and came in second in the all-around (35.125).
"Overall, the girls did a nice job," Craig coach Jean Welch said. "Middleton is always tough to beat up there, and we found some things we can work on."
