MADISON Alyssa Karel scored 20 points as the University of Wisconsin women’s basketball team defeated Robert Morris, 62-46, on Tuesday night at the Kohl Center to wrap up its nonconference schedule with a 10-1 record. It ranks as UW’s second-best start ever.
Wisconsin made 52.3 percent of its shots from the field and was even better from long range, hitting 56.3 percent (9-of-16) of its three-point shots.
The Badgers held Robert Morris to 17-of-58 shooting (29.3 percent) from the field.
Rae Lin D’Alie and Taylor Wurtz each added 11 points apiece.
Wisconsin has a 13-day break before returning on Dec. 28 to face Michigan State in its Big Ten opener at the Kohl Center (7 p.m.).
“Michigan State is obviously a very good team,” Stone said. “… Our whole goal and our mission is to carry over what we’ve done now in the preseason into the Big Ten season.”
