Lake Geneva Badger had big first half but couldn’t close the deal in Southern Lakes boys basketball Friday night.

Badger High pounded Waterford 24-14 in the second quarter for a 34-30 halftime lead, but visiting Wolverines rallied for a 66-57 victory.

The Wolverines held Badger to eight points in the third quarter to take a 49-42 lead. Badger never regained the lead.

Justin Bowers scored 11 of his game-high 24 points in the second quarter for Badger. Beau Steffens scored 10 of his 22 points in the third quarter for Waterford.

Brent Kuschewski added 16 points for Waterford.

Union Grove (2-2, 2-1) jumped out to a 12-point lead after the first quarter and never looked back.

Dustin Milz of Westosha (1-3, 1-1) led all scorers with 18 points.
