Parker gymnasts win
Janesville Parker opened its gymnastics season with a 124.35-110.35 Big Eight Conference victory over host Sun Prairie.
"It was a good opener for us," said Parker coach Cathy Lehmann. "Obviously, we had some jitters and those type of things, and missing a day of practice the day before our opening meet didn't help."
Erika Whitson led the Vikings with a first-place finish in the floor exercise (8.40), and second-place finishes in the vault (8.425), uneven bars (8.05) and balance beam (8.0). Whitson was second to Sun Prairie's Sydney Stiener in the all-around.
The Vikings compete in the Craig Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
