— The Blackhawk Technical College Board today will interview four organizations vying for the contract to conduct the search for BTC’s next president.

BTC President Eric Larson, who has held the post since 1997, will retire June 30.

The interviews are scheduled to be closed to the public, which is allowed under an exception in Wisconsin’s open meetings law for competitive or bargaining reasons.

The college received proposals from seven search organizations. The ones chosen for interviews are:

-- Greenwood/Asher & Associates.

-- Michael Best & Friedrich.

-- National Search & Education Consulting.

-- American Association of Community College Trustees.

The college declined to reveal details of the proposals, “so as to protect the integrity of the selection process and so as not to advantage one candidate over another prior to the conduct of interviews.”

The interviews are scheduled for 5 to 9:30 p.m. today. The board is not scheduled to make a decision today.

A decision is expected at the board’s next regular meeting Wednesday, Dec. 16.

Suggest removal

Michael Best & Friedrich gets my vote, first cuz they are the only organization I've heard of, secondly at one time they were; may still be associated with Carney, Davies and Thorpe LLC. Law firm on Pontiac.
