One dead in Janesville crash

A 43-year-old man died Sunday night after a crash on Center Avenue near Kellogg Avenue, Janesville.
The man's car was struck by a pickup truck at about 6:12 p.m. as it turned left out of Best Events parking lot, according to a news release from the Janesville Police Department. He was taken to Mercy Hospital, Janesville, where he was pronounced dead, the release says.
Police are not releasing the man's name pending notification of his family.
The driver of the pickup, Billy L. Passon Jr., 25, Beloit, was not injured.
Center Avenue was closed for several hours between Kellogg and Burbank avenues after the crash.
