Dells boys turn back Edgerton
Wisconsin Dells High School held Edgerton to two points in the fourth quarter to seal a 42-32 victory in a nonconference boys basketball opener Monday night.
The teams were tied 30-30 after three quarters, but the visiting Chiefs took a 12-2 advantage in the final period for the victory.
Danny Ozga scored 14 points to lead Edgerton. The Crimson Tide is starting the season without one of its top players, 6-2 junior Tyler Dobratz, who is recovering from early-season football injury.
Nate Gibson scored 15 points, and Justin Ward followed with 13 to lead Wisconsin Dells, the South Central Conference preseason favorite.

-- Belleville 58, Edgerton 48—Freshmen Whitney Oren and Brooke Ferrell combined for 23 points, but it wasn’t enough for Edgerton in a nonconference opener at Belleville.
The Crimson Tide led
13-10 after the first quarter, but the Wildcats were up
27-22 at halftime and led the rest of the way.
Oren scored 13 points, and Ferrell added 10, including two three-point goals. Quinn Rear scored a game-high 15 points to pace Belleville.

The Warriors took control in a 23-7 first period and never let Clinton get back into contention.
Kim Wellnitz scored a game-high 21 points for Black Hawk, including 13 in the first quarter. Maggie Schultz paced the Cougars with 16.
