DA: Ky. man admits sex with slain Wis. woman

— Wisconsin prosecutors say a Kentucky man accused of killing a young couple in 1980 told detectives he had consensual sex with the woman and that he watched other men beat the two to death.

Edward Edwards of Louisville, Ky., is charged with killing 19-year-olds Tim Hack and Kelly Drew after the couple left a wedding reception. Prosecutors say DNA from semen found on Drew's pants matched Edward's.

Jefferson County, Wis., prosecutors filed an amended criminal complaint Wednesday that states Edwards told investigators in July that he had consensual sex with Drew in a field outside the reception hall. He says he saw Hack fighting two men, who stomped Hack to death.

Prosecutors say Edwards said he saw three men stomp Drew to death but did nothing to help because he didn't want to get involved.

His lawyer is smart. All the lawyer has to prove is that there is a "shadow of doubt". This seems to cast a little doubt and enough for him to be found not-guilty.
.
Just my opinion. But i don't care if he is found guilty or not. He is now really old and about to die anyways. He has to live with what ever did happen that night. And now he has to relive it, seems like justice one way or another. I would prefer not to tie up my tax money letting him spend his last few days in prison.

It's a shame Wisconsin doesn't have the death penalty for cases exactly like this one. This guy is garbage. There's no reason he or anyone like him should be paid to live out their days at our (taxpayer's) expense. My only hope for him is that once convicted of murdering both of these "kids", that he gets a dose of his own in prison.

I hope the jurors in this trial don`t even find the need to step out of the room to deliberate. Guilty.

Okie-Fed...did you even read the story?? They were not killed outside a crowded wedding hall. They were last seen LEAVING the hall.

Napalm-if you have followed the story at all, you would know the guy is a loser. He has been in and out of jail almost his entire life. THAT would be why no one will believe anything he says.

furthermore, if the female victim was able to see the attack, would she really have only screamed then waited for her turn to be brutally murdered. sounds like this fella didnt put a whole lot of thought into his story.

Least plausible excuse I've heard in a long time. If the "other men" were low enough to kill someone, why did they not also rape, er, have 'consensual' intercourse with the girl?

Consensual??? She can't defend herself so he tries to take her down with him. He didn't want to get involved??? He was already involved. Hope he gets charged with what he deserves. The murder of two people...

Consensual? How disgusting and insulting for this murderer/rapist to even try a story like this........
