Rattlers bounce back to knock off Beloit Snappers

GRAND CHUTE — After getting the best of Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jeff Suppan, the Beloit Snappers were unable to build momentum in suffering a 3-1 loss to the Brewers’ affiliate Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in Midwest League baseball here Sunday.

The Snappers got five hits—four for extra bases—off the rehabbing Suppan in a 4-2 victory Saturday, but they managed just one run on seven hits off a pair of Wisconsin pitchers Sunday.

James Beresford scored on a throwing error to give Beloit a 1-0 lead in the third inning.

Wisconsin scored twice in the fourth to take the lead for good at 2-1. Brett Lawrie hit a solo home run off Snappers starter Liam Henriks (1-4) in the eighth.

Henriks allowed three runs on eight hits in 7 2/3 innings to take the loss.
