— The Janesville Parker High School girls golf team got the 2009 season off to a record-setting start.

The Vikings won the Elkhorn Scramble at Evergreen Golf Course on Thursday thanks to a record 5-under par 67. The team of Molly Rozeboom, Katie Brossard, Amanda Becker and Danielle Applebee had six birdies and one bogey in its record-setting round.

“What a great way for the girls to start the season,” Parker coach John Zimmerman said. “They gave themselves a chance for birdie on almost every hole.”

Parker is back in action today at the Edgewood Invitational at Yahara Hills.

What I don't get is that walworth county is supposed to have their own newspaper section of the gazette, but no individual scores or names reported for any other schools other than parker.

Janesville Parker's performance was very good but shouldn't the headline read...

"Delavan golfers shoot an incredible 12 in 18 hole golf scramble" ;-)
