Clinton tops Beloit Snappers

BELOIT — A season of struggles continued Thursday night for the Beloit Snappers.

The Snappers managed only five hits in a 7-1 loss to the Clinton LumberKings in a Midwest League game at Pohlman Field.

Beloit (19-28) trailed 5-0 after five innings and could not push a run across until Drew Thompson tripled in the eighth and scored on James Beresford’s RBI groundout.

Daniel Berlind (3-12) suffered the loss after failing to make it through five innings.

The two teams wrap up the four-game series tonight at Pohlman Field.
