Two Janesville men were killed after a rollover crash on Interstate 90/39 on Thursday afternoon.

The driver of a Ford Ranger pickup truck was identified as Richard Siadek, 49. He died at the scene after being ejected from his vehicle.

Doug Cawkins, 45, of Janesville, was a passenger in the truck. He was transported from the scene but later died as a result of his injuries. The truck collided with another car while traveling south shortly after 3 p.m.

The pickup driver was attempting to pass the second vehicle using the right-hand lane and moved back into the left lane too quickly, Wisconsin State Patrol Sgt. Greg Jenswold said.

The truck rolled over into the median, ejecting the driver and pinning the passenger inside.

Firefighters cut Cawkins from the vehicle and transported him to Janesville’s Mercy Hospital.

The second vehicle traveled across two southbound lanes and came to rest in a ditch after the collision, but the driver did not report any injuries.

The accident caused delays in both directions on the interstate, but traffic began moving slowly within the hour.

The state patrol is still investigating the collision.

I was on the interstate last Tues. heading South and cut someone off because a semi was flying up on me. I didn't see the person and was nervous at the speed the semi was approaching. Moved over and the person behind me flashed their brights. Thankfully I didn't hit them, my directional may have been the savior. I felt bad but then...
.
The semi proceeded to pass me and when he was about 1/2 passed decided to cut me off. I am guessing he was trying to teach me a lesson but I had to slam on my brakes and was almost rear-ended in the process.
.
I see the aholes and have nearly made innocent mistakes, I get both issues. For me, that is the problem. Mistakes happen and aholes happen. Not a good combo at 70-90 mph.
.
Thoughts and prayers to everyone involved.

Back in July, I was on the interstate parking lot for about an hour. Terrible accident about 4 miles away from me. Now, the accident was in the north bound lanes and I was headed south, but both directions were closed. Helicopters were brought in for the injured. As I sat, either reading, listening to the radio, talking on the phone or drinking my soda, I had to be wary of the "emergency" lane. Why? Zooming past all the parked cars was a gold Corvette convertible. Guess he had to be somewhere. Once I could move, about 2-3 miles down the road (still SB), were two people standing next to a motorcycle, pulled over in the emergency lane, taking it easy. I'm making an assumption that the Corvette driver had already "flown" through before the bikers had pulled over.

Now, were the bikers in the wrong? Maybe... (Not sure why they pulled over. If it had been a car that had over heated, rather than a bike-for instance-would it be ok for them to be on the side of the road?)

I travel the I-system all the time. I also travel 14 sometimes. Let's just say that a jerk is a jerk is a jerk and someone will die as you read this posting...probably at no fault of their own. Will you be next is what you have to keep in my thoughts at all times when big, heavy hunks of metal are hurling at any speed...driven by big, stupid hunks (or hunkettes?). Not everyone in the world has as high an IQ as you do. Not much you can do about "them"...it's what you can do to watch out for yourself that counts.

Get off the cell phones, pull over to read the maps, argue later. Do one job well - do it right - and you might live another day: Drive Defensively!

That's exactly right 68olds98...people are too quick to judge without considering all of the possibilities.

Before you place blame on the person in the left lane, think about this...sometimes the arrogant jerks doing 90 mph don't give you time to move over safely.

Exactly, biggirl. The law says to move over. Your personal safety says to move over. Heck, one of my top peeves as a driver is people lined up tailgating behind me, so why would I want to have it happen more often and for longer? I move right at the first opportunity and let them pass. All it usually takes is a few taps on the cruise control both ways.

This is very regrettable, and I don't want to blame anyone here. All I do want to say, however, is that passing in the right lane is very, very dangerous. Everyone who contributes to it -- both the passer and the sanctimonious driver who insists on driving in the left lane because he is, after all, driving the speed limit -- need to mend their ways.

I feel bad for what happened too. I also drive I-90 on a weekly basis from J-ville to Beloit, and from time to time i get behind ppl who dont want to move over to the right lane to let you pass them. So you have to change lanes to the right one and pass them on the right. What ever happened to moving over for someone that is going faster then you. But yeah I have been noticing alot of crazy driving out there lately from both the truck drivers and regular vehicles.

I feel sorry for the passanger. I drive I-90 5 times a week and I'm tired of all these d-bags on the road cutting people off so they can move ahead of two vehicles. I see these clowns put my life and everyone elses in danger. I hope all of you drivers out there read this and change your ways.

Sad news. Why is everybody always in such a damn hurry? I used to drive like I always had someplace extremely important to be at all times, but it's not worth it. You drive like a maniac, risk your life and the lives of others, and you get to your destination 3 minutes sooner. Come on, people, think about what you're doing and what's really important. And, is Janesville ever going to do anything about all the fools continually running red lights because they can't wait 2 minutes for the next green?
