LAKE GENEVA The Walworth mailboat, which in the summer delivers mail to the residents along Geneva Lake, will be featured on a new show on the Travel Channel.
“Bizarre World” host Andrew Zimmern will board the historic mailboat Saturday, Aug. 29, and try his hand at delivering the mail—jumping from the boat, to the pier and back to the boat—without falling in the water.
A television film crew will capture the jumps from a chase boat.
Zimmern will join veteran mail jumper Elle Vogt, 19, of Burlington, longtime mailboat captain Neill Frame of Lake Geneva Cruise Line and dozens of passengers on the tour.
An airdate for the segment has not yet been determined.
“Bizzare World” will take Zimmern around the globe in search of the most unusual traditions and unique activities.
But Zimmern perhaps is better known as the man with the steel stomach from his show “Bizarre Foods,” in which he travels the world in search of the most interesting local fare.
