Clinton knocks off Beloit Snappers
Daniel Carroll ripped a two-run single in the top of the seventh inning to lift the Clinton LumberKings to a 4-2 win over the Beloit Snappers here Wednesday night in a Midwest League game at Pohlman Field.
Beloit (19-27 second half) tied the game at 1-1 in the sixth on Jon Waltenbury’s RBI single, but Clinton took the lead for good in the next inning on Carroll’s single.
Brad Tippett (8-5) took the loss despite allowing only three hits in 6q innings.
Ramon Santana, Angel Morales and Waltenbury had two hits each for the Snappers.
Game three of the four-game series is tonight at Pohlman Field.
