Four-run sixth inning propels Beloit Snappers’ win

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The Beloit Snappers outlasted the Cedar Rapids Kernels for a 7-5 victory in Midwest League baseball Monday afternoon.

The Snappers posted a four-run rally in the sixth inning to take a 7-1 lead. James Beresford smacked a two-run single with the bases loaded to highlight the inning.

The Snappers collected 11 hits, with Angel Morales getting four hits in five at-bats.

Beloit starter Bobby Lanigan (10-7) allowed four runs on five hits through

5 2/3 innings to earn the victory. Billy Bullock pitched

1 2/3 innings of hitless relief to notch his fourth save.
