WCLO's Stan Stricker reports on Rock County's first day of registration

RSS

A few couples showed up in the Rock County Clerk's office Monday to take advantage of the first day of Wisconsin's Domestic Partner Registry.

Rock County Clerk Lori Stottler says inquiries about the registry began coming into her office last week. She does believe many people don't know about the registry, and the number of same sex couples coming into her office will increase in the next few weeks. She expects the number of couples coming in for the domestic registry to be small compared to those getting married.

This time of year up to 10 or 12 couples a day come in for marriage licenses.
