In these challenging economic times, non-profits are looking for new ways to raise money.

The new fundraising manager at the South Central Wisconsin Chapter of the American Red Cross in Janesville, Nora Gard, says collaboration efforts with other non-profits are being explored. The first such event is planned this Saturday with Special Olympics, for "Chili-Extreme", from 11:00 unitl 5:00 at the UAW Hall.

Gard adds, as the economic times get tough, the volunteer base shows even greater passion to help non-profits in their missions.
