Bibliophiles have a reason to celebrate Monday. After being closed most of the month while moving to its new facility, this is the first day of regular business in the new Beloit Public Library at the Eclipse Center.

The new facility has much more room, including a computer center with seating for more than 40 people, a meeting room that will hold nearly 200 people and a cafe area. Foundations, businesses and individuals helped contribute toward $1.8 million in furnishings for the space.

Library patrons were able to get a glimpse of the new facility at the open house Saturday, but this is the first day of full operations.
