MADISON MadisonMemorial (5-3) pounded out 15 hits en route to a 14-3 victory over visiting Janesville Parker (1-9, 1-7) in Big Eight softball here Thursday.
Jackie Koykkar’s two-run single spakred Memorial’s four-run first inning, during which the Spartanscollected five hits. They also had five hits in a seven-run third that extended their lead to 14-1 in the five-inning game.
Jackie Ludois doubled and scored on an error to give Parker a brief 1-0 lead in the first inning. Lauren Brooks, Ludois and Kassy Hendricks had consecutive hits in Parker’s two-run fifth inning.
“It was a real solid hitting display by Memorial,” Parker coach Jenni Seisser said. “It was a solid hitting display by Memorial.
“We had seven hits, but that wasn’t enough to win. We’re moving a step in the right direction.”
Parker hosts Middleton in a 10 a.m. doubleheader on Saturday.
