Chicago woman dies from motorcycle accident

JANESVILLE — A motorcycle passenger died Monday from injuries she suffered in an accident Saturday on the Interstate 90/39 ramp to Highway 14 East, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.

A 42-year-old woman of Chicago was injured when the motorcycle David A. Sanchez, 41, of Chicago, was driving mistakenly exited the Interstate. When Sanchez braked and downshifted, the motorcycle lost traction and hit the ground, according to a news release from the state patrol.

Both were transported to Mercy Hospital for treatment. He was treated and released, according to a hospital spokeswoman today. She died Monday, according to the state patrol.

The Rock County Coroner's office today identified Valerie Sanchez as the woman who died from injuries suffered in the accident.

Neither rider wore a helmet, and alcohol was not involved, according to the state patrol.
