Earth Day activities planned
Plenty of Earth Day activities around the area Wednesday.
Among them, a hundred or so preschoolers are expected at Rotary Gardens in Janesville. The children will be treated to a variety of activities including eco-story time, a rain barrel plant watering, and arts and crafts. UW-Extension Youth Garden Educator Julie Gibes says kids are like sponges when learning about caring for the environment. Other area events include a display of electric and hybrid cars, organized by UW-Whitewater Physics Professor Paul Rybski. The UW-Rock County student environmental club plans a day of activities with the theme of "reduce and simplify".
Northpointe Health and Wellness is offing a variety of discussions ranging from prairie restoration to organic foods.
