— Bliss Communications, publisher of The Janesville Gazette and GazetteXtra.com, is launching a daily news Web site for Walworth County residents.

The new site, WalworthCountyToday.com, will include content from several Bliss companies and feature the latest news about Walworth County.

The Web site announcement follows last month's news that The Janesville Gazette starting April 27 will publish in the morning seven days per week and produce a daily edition specifically for Walworth County readers. WalworthCountyToday.com will go live the same day.

"The development of the new morning Walworth County Gazette and WalworthCountyToday.com reinforces the commitment we have to the county," explained Skip Bliss, CEO and president of Bliss Communications.

"For many years, we have been the leading source of news and information, and with the combined resources of the Gazette and CSI Media, we will cover the important events like no one else can," Bliss said.

Dan Plutchak, associate editor for CSI Media in Delavan, will manage WalworthCountyToday.com in a joint venture between the Gazette and CSI. Bliss bought CSI in June. CSI publishes the Janesville Messenger, Stateline News and Walworth County Sunday.

Plutchak had been the editor of The Week, a weekly Walworth County newspaper published by Bliss until last year. Bliss expects the new site to effectively update Walworth County residents on news in their communities.

"Dan has extensive editing and Web content management experience, and he has full access to all Gazette, GazetteXtra.com and CSI news resources." Bliss said.

In addition to local stories and updates on latest news, Plutchak said, WalworthCountyToday.com will feature community bloggers and ways for readers to interact with the site.

WalworthCountyToday.com will be one of several Bliss Web offerings for Walworth County residents.

Earlier this year, the business directory Gazlo.com was expanded beyond its original Rock County zone to serve Walworth County. Also, CommunityShoppers.com, a site for readers and advertisers of CSI publications, will be upgraded to provide greater search capacity. Bliss also operates WalworthCoGetaway.com, a site for visitors to the region.

How about fix the bugs on this one first? Pretty funny to have the same story link take you to either the gazettes site or take you to wclo's.

How about go back to the old job section and auto ads instead of using 3rd party sites. swautofinder is a complete joke. Nothing but dealer ads.
