Parker second in quad

JANESVILLE — Thanks to strong play from its No. 2, 3 and 4 singles players, the Janesville Parker High boys tennis team finished second at its own quadrangular Friday.

The Vikings finished 2-1 with wins over Beloit Memorial and Fort Atkinson, and a 4-3 loss to champion Lake Geneva Badger.

“I’m really proud of the way the guys played tonight,” Parker coach Mike Fuhrmann said. “Our 2, 3 and 4 singles players are 20-1 this season while our doubles teams are working well together and getting better every match.”

Jason Knutson, Matt Knutson and Ethan Zillmer each went 3-0 in singles play.

Parker is at Madison East in a Big Eight Conference match on Tuesday.
