Janesville classrooms will be inundated with volunteers Friday morning, ready to read selections from books to students.
Donna Behn, the school district's director of instruction services, says she thinks there are between 350 and 400 volunteers. They come from all walks of life. She says they're lawyers, Snappers players, moms and high school students. State Senator Judy Robson and City Manager Eric Levitt will be televised reading to the high schools. Several authors will also read to the students.
The project is part of the district's core values program, focusing on cooperation.
