Snappers lose doubleheader: no-hit in game one
DAVENPORT, IA The early-season struggles in the Midwest League continue for the Beloit Snappers.
Beloit (1-5) lost a doubleheader to Qaud Cities on Wednesday, including a 3-0 loss in game one in which the Snappers were no-hit.
Hector Cardenas (2-0) and Kevin Thomas combined on the no-hitter, while Quad Cities got the only run it needed on Chris Swauger’s home run to lead off the bottom of the second.
Michael Allen fell to 0-2 despite pitching a complete game.
A four-run fifth inning carried Quad Cities to the victory in game two.
Ramon Santana homered in the loss for Beloit.
