Bowling family has a high scoring week
If members of the Spigarelli family of Edgerton gets together for Easter, bowling will likely be a main topic of conversation.
Not that it isn’t normally. Tony Spigarelli Sr. first started bowling around 50 years ago when he was eight.
His oldest son, Tony Jr., is 27. Another son, Bryan, is 24. Both of them have bowled since they were 5 or 6.
In all the years of bowling connected with the family, however, none ranks with this week.
On Tuesday, Tony Jr., rolled a 300 in the Stokes’ Pub League at RiversEdge in Janesville. It was part of a 783 series.
The next night, Bryan, duplicated the feat at the Northern Inn in Edgerton.
While Tony Jr. has bowled several perfect games, it was Bryan’s first 300 game.
“His older brother was always making fun of him,” Tony Sr., said of Bryan.
Bryan’s 300 came with some suspense as his final delivery resulted in a standing 10-pin for a few agonizing moments.
“He turned around and then everyone around started hollering,” Tony Sr., said. “The 10-pin fell down.”
Tony Sr. also has a 300 to his credit, which was rolled in 1978.
