WCLO's Steve Benton reports on Michael Huber's guilty pleas to six sexual assaults

RSS

— The man who became known as "Janesville's serial rapist" pleads guilty to six counts of sexual assault in Rock County Court.

32 year old Michael Ryan Huber answered "yes sir" to Judge James Daley as Daley asked whether Huber understood the charges and whether he was willingly pleading guilty to them. Judge Daley accepted the pleas and dismissed one count of 2nd degree sexual assault of child.

The pleas eliminates the need for a trial.

Judge Daley ordered a pre-sentence hearing for June 26th. Huber's crime spree stretched from 1998 to 2005.

There is NO closure for the victim of this type of crime. Temporary relief that this particular piece of scum is off the streets, is the best we can hope for. Then, whenever we are in a situation where we might not have total control of our safety, those same feelings emerge and we are once again incapacitated... and frightened to our core.

I have 2 daughters and 3 grandkids... I have the same fear... Children are so trusting. I see my little 8 year old granddaughter and I know she is part of the next generation, how can we protect her and her little 4 year old sister from these scumbags?

I have absolutely NO tolerance or sympathy for these psychopathic creeps! They belong in the death chamber and I would relish the opportunity to pump their bodies with enough volts to darken the entire state!

No, I do not mince my words or opinions.... I know what this does to a child and they deserve to die!!!

Whatcomesaround,
I am a father of a little girl and also
I fear for her saftey every day in this world of child molesters and kidnappers. I hope this will give you some closure and just know that this was nothing to do with how you did or didn't act. This guy was one sick person and I relish and hope they throw the book at him and NEVER LET HIM OUT OF JAIL! I also think if you really start punishing these people and really put the fear of death into them this type of things will stop happening. We as a people are too soft on these criminals. Giving them 3 squares a day and a soft cot to sleep on in jail. Make them eat bread and water and sleep on the floor like the animals they are. NO MORE EXCUSES FOR THESE PEOPLE. They made wrong/bad choices and they should be punished! I hope someday you will find piece and happiness whatcomesaround.

whatcomesaround...that's a powerful story, and I'm sorry you had to go through that. I truly hope for your sake and all others affected by Huber's (and other rapists) actions, he is punished to the full extent of the legal system. I've spoken before on the recidivism rate of sex offenders and I truly believe they deserve no second chance in society. I have a feeling he will get his just rewards while in prison. Hopefully he will never step another minute outside a maximum security facility.
