WCLO's Steve Benton reports on the accreditation process at Rock County's 911 communications center

RSS

— Every three years, the Rock County 911 Communications Center goes through the process of re-accreditation.

A team of experts are examining policy, procedure, management, operations, and support services at the center.

Center Director Dave Sleeter says they do this to prove that they're operating at the highest standards for communication centers. Sleeter says there are a number of benefits, including lowering liability risks. It also gives the trained communications technicians pride in knowing they're operating at the highest level.

The accreditation is for three years, but the agency must submit annual reports attesting continued compliance with the standards of the accreditation.

The on site inspection is scheduled to be finished by Wednesday.
