The Janesville Education Association is ready with its contract proposal for the school board.
JEA negotiator Jim Reif tells WCLO's Stan Milam Show, working conditions are a top issue. Reif says Janesville requires far more hours of teacher training than any other area district. He says a great deal of time is also lost in meetings, without direct benefit to the children in the classroom. Reif plans to discuss working conditions even before pay raises.
He expects to share the proposal with the new school board later this month.
