A charitable food drive will benefit the less fortunate, along with Janesville area farmers.
The Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin and Janesville Foundation are teaming up for a special food drive in cooperation with ECHO and the Janesville Farmers Market. The effort will give vouchers of $5 each to the needy, to be redeemed for fresh, locally grown food items at the farmer's market. An anonymous donor has offered a matching grant of $1 for every-$2 raised for the effort, up to $2500.
The Community Foundation has already raised $3500.

This is a great idea. I love the idea of needy families getting healthy, fresh food. Senior citizens should, also, contact their local Council on Aging organization. There is already a program in place that gives seniors vouchers to use at participating farmer's markets etc to obtain fresh food! I think this is such a win-win situation. In this economy supporting our local vendors is very important and people are getting food they need! YAY!

Here's how you can contribute, I just found it: http://www.cfsw.org/DonationsForm.asp and where it says "I would like this donation to be used for", scroll all the way to the bottom to Farmers Market Program.
Please help generously if you can. There are many, many malnourished families, especially seniors, in our hometowns!
