Strieker sparks Parker victory
JANESVILLE Janesville Parker High School’s girls soccer team heads into spring break and an 11-day layoff on a high note.
The Vikings, behind four goals from Nicole Strieker, coasted to a 7-0 nonconference win over Rockford Jefferson (Ill.) here Friday night.
Parker (2-1) opened up a 4-0 halftime lead and never looked back.
“We had a couple of starters that were already gone on spring break, so we had some others step up and do the job,” Parker first-year coach Amy Wargowsky said. “Nicole really asserted herself and looked to score.
“It was a good win after losing to Waunakee (11-0) last night.”
Strieker, a senior, notched a hat trick with Parker’s final three goals of the first half and picked up her fourth goal at 57:44 to complete the scoring. Sophomore Savannah Shepler had two goals and an assist, while goalkeeper Sam Anacker made five saves in recording the shutout.
