Downtown Janesville will soon have more parking

WCLO's Beth Wheelock reports on the demolition of a downtown building.

It might soon be easier to find parking in downtown Janesville after the demolition of 121 East Court Street.

City Development Specialist Al Hulick says the majority of the prep work is done for the demolition of the city-owned building. He says the sewer, water and utilities are disconnected, and an outside firm has conducted an asbestos evaluation. Demolition is scheduled for early November to early December, depending on how long it takes for the asbestos results to come back and the abatement process.
