Janesville School computer virus

WCLO's Steve Benton reports on a computer bug that got into Janesville School District computer servers
JANESVILLE A computer bug got into some of the Janesville School District's servers September 19th and it wasn't detected right away.
Director of Business Services, Doug Bunton, says the virus goes right into the servers and destroys programs. Replacing the programs will take three to four weeks according to Bunton.
The primary task of re-installing the programs falls on the shoulders of the tech staff, and they've been working long hours and on the weekend. In addition, the district is calling in some outside consultants, and they're checking with the software company that provides protection for district computers.

Yes, Skyward is wonderful! It allows the parents to have a more active approach. We don't have to wait for our kids to bring home report cards, we can check the grades daily...or more often, if need arises. Patience is needed as we cannot expect the teachers to grade everything right away and get them posted. But the teachers are great with any questions concerning non-posted grades. Hang in there Trish, there is a light at the end of the tunnel :-)

Hi, My name is Trish and I am a Skyward Access addict. I didn't know I was until I wasn't able to access the page. 5-6 times a day, I look to see if they have it fixed yet.
My children and I look at the site every night, or used to anyways, to see what the teachers have corrected and what their grades are. We miss it very much.
I also miss being able to click a couple times and find out what is coming up on the calendar and what sporting events are going on at the high school. I didn't realize how much I relied on it until I lost it.
