-- A 15-YEAR-OLD JANESVILLE BOY, at 9:50 a.m. Sept. 16 at Craig High School, 401 S. Randall Ave., on a charge of substantial battery. He is accused of punching another 15-year-old boy, breaking his nose.

-- PRESTON GOVAN JR., 24, of 424 W. Holmes St., Janesville, on a charge of felon in possession of a firearm Sunday.

-- JOSEPH S. USHER, 24, of 3210 Randolph Road, Janesville, at 11:28 p.m. Monday at the Mercy Hospital emergency room, Janesville, on charges of second-degree recklessly endangering safety, battery/domestic violence and a mental health hold. The victim was a 24-year-old female.

-- DUSTIN J. STOLZE, 23, of 1853 Spruce St., 23, Beloit, on a warrant charging escape Monday at the Rock County Jail.

-- FRED A. WALMER, 53, of 121 Clark St., Janesville, at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday at County Line Road and County A, on a charge of strangulation as a domestic violence incident.

-- WON BUCHANAN, 18, of 709 E. Centerway, Janesville, at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday at 320 Park Ave., Janesville, on a charge of party to the crime of substantial battery.

-- CARDELL MCALLISTER, 22, no fixed address, at 10:54 p.m. Tuesday in the 1800 block of Green Forest Run in Janesville on charges of possession with intent to deliver marijuana and criminal trespass.

-- SCOTT SPERB, 23, of 432 N. Parker Drive, Janesville, on Wednesday of charges of burglary, theft and criminal damage to property.

-- JACOB A. VAYDING, 19, of 1407 Canyon Drive, Janesville, on Wednesday in the 1300 block of Laramie Lane in Janesville on bench warrants charging failure to appear in court on earlier charges of burglary, theft and two counts of felony bail-jumping.

Intoxicated driving arrests

-- LOUIS M. ROBERTS, 45, of 2627 W. St. Lawrence Ave., No. 3, Beloit, at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 18 at Highway 51 and Beloit-Rock Town Line Road in Beloit Township. Also ticketed for driving with unreasonable speed.

-- STEPHEN J. MAHLUM, 20, of 800 Sue Lane, Clinton, at 11:57 p.m. Sept. 18 on Highway 140 south of Interstate 43 in Clinton Township. Also ticketed for speeding.

-- STEVEN D. PETERSON, 45, of 314 ½ N. First St., Edgerton, at 7:31 p.m. Friday at 112 Swift St., Edgerton. It was reported as Peterson’s third arrest on a drunken-driving charge. He was cited for driving without a valid driver’s license.

-- ANDREW R. SHULTZ, 21, of 931 E. Nelson Ave., Milton, at 12:14 a.m. Saturday at County N and North Serns Road in Milton Township. Also arrested on a charge of possessing drug paraphernalia and ticketed for speeding.

-- IRVIN C. ELLSWORTH, 49 of Racine, at 8:51 p.m. Saturday on Highway 11 near Hanover Road in Rock Township. Also cited for speeding and open intoxicant.

-- CHRISTOPHER W. CROSON, 25, of 208 S. Rutland St., Brooklyn, at 12:43 a.m. Sunday on Highway 14 at Connor Drive in Janesville Township. Also cited for driving with a suspended registration. It was listed as his third arrest on a drunken-driving charge.

-- NICOLE M. SHIPLER, 23, of 404 Prairie View Circle, Milton, at 6:02 p.m. Sunday on Highway 26 south of East Klug Road in Milton Township. It was reported as her second arrest on a drunken-driving charge. Also arrested on a charge of obstructing and ticketed for driving on a revoked license.

-- DENISE D. FREEMAN, 50, of 12633 W. Hake Road, Whitewater, at 10:59 p.m. Sunday at Highway 59 and North Oakwood Drive in Lima Township. It was reported as her second arrest on a drunken-driving charge; also ticketed for driving on a revoked license. The traffic stop followed a domestic disturbance that resulted in Freeman’s arrest on charges of violating a restraining order, criminal trespassing and criminal damage.

-- BURGLARY to a home in the 1400 block of Hawthorne Avenue in Janesville reported Monday. Reported stolen was $700 in cash. An estimated $75 damage was done.

-- BURGLARY to a home in the first block of South Fremont Street in Janesville reported Saturday. Reported stolen was $5 in change.

-- BURGLARY to a garage on South Smythe School Road in Newark Township reported Thursday. Reported stolen were a toolbox and tools valued at $500. On Friday, the theft of gutters and an antenna, total value $200, was reported at a neighboring house.

-- SERIES OF CAR BREAK-INS, Saturday in or near the first block of South Ringold Street, Janesville. Stolen from one car was a global positioning system device valued at $500.

-- MAIL SCAM, reported Tuesday. A Janesville woman received a check for nearly $4,800 with a letter from Publishers Clearing House, stating she was a third-place winner of $15 million and that the check was sent to cover outstanding fees not paid to Publishers Clearing House. The intent was apparently to get the woman to cash the check and send it to the scammer. The woman instead contacted police, who determined the check was not valid.

Accidents

-- HIGHWAY 213 NORTH OF WEST HAFEMAN ROAD in Plymouth Township at 10:03 p.m. Friday, a motorcycle driven by Justin E. Dammen, 31, South Beloit, Ill., ran off the road. He was ejected. Dammen, who was treated and released at Beloit Memorial Hospital, was arrested on a charge of drunken driving and ticketed for driving with unreasonable speed.

Intoxicated driving arrests

-- KENNETH L. HOVLAND, 68, of 250 Havenwood Drive, No. 203, Lake Geneva, on Sept. 16 in the parking lot of KFC, 171 N. Wells St., Lake Geneva. It was reported as his second arrest on a drunken-driving charge. He also was cited for operating after revocation.

-- EMILY N. HOPKINS, 21, Silver Lake, on Sept. 16 in a municipal parking lot in the 200 block of Cook Street, Lake Geneva. She also was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.

-- GREGORIO RUIZ-SILVINO, 21, of 1030 Pleasant St., Lake Geneva, on Thursday on Wells Street at Lake Geneva Boulevard, Lake Geneva. He also was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign, operating without a valid driver’s license and improper registration.

-- JOSHUA A. FISHER, 35, 400 S. Edwards Blvd., Lake Geneva, on Saturday in the parking lot of Stop-N-Go, 896 S. Wells St., Lake Geneva. A passenger in his vehicle, a 15-year-old Lake Geneva boy, was cited for underage consumption of alcohol.

-- KAITLIN S. OCONNELL, 24, La Grange, Ill., on Sunday on Main Street at Country Club Drive, Lake Geneva.

-- CRAIG A. BENGE, 44, no fixed address, on Monday in the parking lot of Pick ’n Save, 100 E. Geneva Square, Lake Geneva. He also was cited for open intoxicants in a motor vehicle and operating while suspended.

-- THEFT of a 1999 Cadillac Eldorado valued at $7,500 from Lake Geneva Chevrolet, 715 S. Wells St., Lake Geneva, reported Monday.
