— Middleton High pulled away from Janesville Craig with a three-goal second half for a 4-0 victory in a Big Eight game Tuesday night on the Cardinals’ field.

Derek Pitts’ penalty kick after a handball call gave Middleton a 2-0 lead to open the second half.

“That goal early in the second half was such a letdown and game-breaker that we never really recovered,” Craig coach Dave Adler said.

Craig has lost three straight since posting a 1-0 upset over Madison Memorial last Thursday.

The Cougars (3-8-1, 3-2) host Janesville Parker at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
