Orfordville police join investigation unit
ORFORDVILLE The Orfordville Police Department is joining the recently formed Special Investigation Unit spearheaded by the Rock County Sheriff’s Office.
Other police departments participating are those in Beloit Township, Clinton, Edgerton, Evansville and Milton.
The southwest area of Rock County has seen an increase in both minor and serious crimes, Sheriff Bob Spoden said in a press release announcing Orfordville’s entry into the special unit.
“Having this partnership will benefit both agencies and allow the Orfordville police the ability to use all the resources of the SIU,” the sheriff said.
The cooperative unit will combine local and county law enforcement resources to confront criminal activity throughout the county.
