Janesville's female students age 17 and older are set to begin self defense training Monday.
Director of Student Services Karen Schulte says the Janesville Police SAFE training is also open to female guardians and female staff members. Schulte says she has taken the training to see what it was like. After she went through the training, she thought would have liked to have known the techniques while she was in school. The sessions begin Monday at the city's high schools and will be offered once a month.
