The Rock County Board approves a cell tower lease that would bring the county nearly $400,000 over ten years.
Assistant to the County Administrator Phil Boutwell says the amount is reasonable to put the tower at the Rock County 4-H Fairgrounds. A few county supervisors voiced concern at Thursday's meeting that the county was settling for too little money. Boutwell says the main concern from citizens throughout the process is the fate of the tower if the fairgrounds are relocated. He says there is language in the lease that at the end of ten years, the county may ask the tower to vacate.
