Town of Beloit sewer extension
BELOIT TOWNSHIP A portion of the Town of Beloit without sewer service may have it soon.
Town Administrator, Bob Museus, says the area affected is south of Beloit-Newark Road and between Afton Road and the Rock River. He says a number of septic systems have failed and residents don't have enough space for new drain fields. Museus says there are also concerns over groundwater contamination. The area could have been included in the city of Beloit's sewer extension project, but Museus says town residents would have to annex into the city, and they want to avoid that.
The town's engineer is seeking guidance from the Town Board in the permitting process and he'll be sending the paperwork to the DNR soon. Once the state approves the plan, the town can get the project underway.
