Town of Fulton voters are being asked to allow an increase in their taxes to improve the condition of local roads.

Town of Fulton Supervisor Dave Brown tells WCLO's Stan Milam show a referendum question on next Tuesday's primary ballot asks to allow an increase in the state tax levy limits. Brown says the town needs $8350 a mile for upkeep of roadways, but the state only allows $5000.

The referendum asks for the increase, which would translate into an additional $116 a year in property taxes for the owner of a $100,000 home.
