— Clinton native Mike Hahn is on his way to Fort Jackson, South Carolina for training. He's a sergeant in the army and is trained as a transportation specialist. He's also running a campaign for the 45th Assembly district seat currently held by Chuck Benedict of Beloit.

Hahn says he does face some unusual challenges because of his status, but he's not the first to face that. Hahn says a dedicated staff of volunteers is running his campaign, and he'll be able to keep in touch through the internet. He also says he has a blog and has access to a web e-mail account. If elected, Hahn says he'll be able to handle most of his duties through his staff.

At this point, Hahn is not sure whether he'll be deployed, or if he is, where he'll be sent.
