Arrests

-- MICHAEL J. NICHOLS, 40, Edgerton, on bench warrants Wednesday charging failure to appear in court on previous charges of third-offense operating while intoxicated, possession of narcotic drugs and bail jumping.


-- DAVID E. BROWN JR., 26, of 232 N. Pearl St., Janesville, at 1:10 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of strangulation and misdemeanor battery after a domestic dispute at his home. He is accused of beating and strangling his 28-year-old girlfriend. He also was arrested for a probation violation.


-- LAURA L. ANDERSON, 34, of 321 N. Crosby Ave., Janesville, at 12:14 a.m. today at her home on a charge of physical abuse to a child.


Intoxicated driving arrests

-- MARCY G. MULLEN, 32, of 4325 N. Tarrant Road, Milton, at 1:05 a.m. Aug. 28 on Highway 26 north of Bingham Road, Harmony Township. She also was cited for speeding.


-- MICHELLE R. BUSH, 40, of 909 Parkview Drive, Milton, at 6:01 a.m. Saturday at 6938 N. Vickerman Road, Lima Township.


-- JEFFREY A. MILLER, 49, of 3221 E. Dix Drive, Milton, at 1:29 a.m. Sunday on Cedar Lake Road south of Wood Trail, Milton Township. It was reported as his fourth arrest on a drunken-driving charge. He also was cited for operating after revocation.


-- AARON M. SUNDERLAGE, 28, Algonquin, Ill., at 9:17 p.m. on Sunday on Highway 81 near Starr Road in Newark Township. He also was cited for speeding.


-- ANGELA L. BRIGHAM, 39, of 1702 E. Road 1, Edgerton, at 11:03 p.m. Monday at Iva Drive and Mallwood Drive, Milton Township. It was reported as her third arrest on a drunken-driving charge. She also was cited for knowingly operating after revocation causing property damage, hit and run to property adjacent to a highway and failure to notify police of an accident.


-- MICHELLE A. DREW, 47, of 2519 Galahad Way, Janesville, at 6:21 p.m. Tuesday at her home.


-- ALBERT A. TAYLOR, 35, of 552 S. Parker Drive, Janesville, at 2:10 a.m. today at Center and Racine streets, Janesville.


Accidents

-- HIGHWAY 51 AT ROCKVALE COURT, ROCK TOWNSHIP. A vehicle driven by Cynthia K. Bergh, 44, of 1614 S. Oakhill Ave., No. 2, Janesville, was southbound on Highway 51, began to turn left into the entrance of 6219 S. Highway 51 and collided with a vehicle driven by Sheila R. Stadermann, 49, South Beloit, Ill., at 11:17 p.m. Saturday. Stadermann was treated and released from Beloit Memorial Hospital. Bergh was cited for operating while intoxicated and failure to yield while making a left turn.


-- MT. ZION AVENUE AT PONTIAC DRIVE, Janesville, at 4:34 p.m. Tuesday. A vehicle driven by Robert L. Messer Schmidt, 64, of 956 Hawthorne Ave., Janesville, was westbound with a green light when a moped driven by Dennis E. Turner, 59, of 1702 E. Milwaukee St., Janesville, turned right from Pontiac Drive onto Mt. Zion, colliding with and sideswiping the vehicle. Turner was treated and released at Mercy Hospital and cited for illegal turning.


-- COUNTY MM AT TARRANT ROAD, JOHNSTOWN TOWNSHIP. A vehicle driven by Michael S. Chereso, 22, Carpentersville, Ill., was southbound on Tarrant Road, failed to stop at the stop sign and collided with a vehicle driven by Stephen J. Weber, 67, Brookfield, at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday. Chereso’s vehicle spun, rolled and struck a tree. Weber’s vehicle struck a fire number sign. Chereso and passengers Lindsay M. Hahn, 16, 3916 County S, Beloit, and Ross D. Oldenburg, 15, 521 Church St., Clinton, were transported to Mercy Hospital, Janesville. Chereso was treated and released. Chereso was cited for inattentive driving.

-- THEFT FROM A VEHICLE parked in the garage of a home in the 4300 block of Chadswyck Drive, Janesville, reported Aug. 18. A laptop valued at $2,000 and $10 in change were reported stolen.


-- BURGLARY to a home in the 800 block of South Fremont Street, Janesville, reported Aug. 22; $512 in cash was reported stolen.


-- BURGLARY to a home in the 9300 block of North Oakwood Drive, Whitewater, reported Aug. 25. The reporting person said his waterbed mattress was slashed and laundry detergent had been poured into his hot tub. A coffee can full of change and a bottle of whiskey were reported stolen.


-- THEFT of copper wire owned by Union Pacific Railroad, 1924 Beloit Ave., Janesville, reported Aug. 27. A sheriff’s deputy found the wire had been cut at County J and Woodman Avenue, Janesville. A railroad employee estimated the value of the stolen wire at $9,000.


Charged

-- KENNETH J. HEAD, 26, of 574 S. Main St., Janesville, with felony theft after a Janesville woman reported he robbed her of $300 on Aug. 5.


-- THEA MARIA ACEVEDO, 17, of 502 Linn St., Janesville, with felony escape and misdemeanor bail-jumping after a correctional officer at the Rock County Jail reported she did not report for the weekend Workender Program as required.


-- JEFFERY F. KAI, 44, of 614 N. Pine St., Janesville, with possession of both cocaine and marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop Aug. 6.


-- ROBERT W. STOLL, 41, of 1012 W. Holmes St., Janesville with eighth-offense drunken driving, eighth-offense driving with a prohibited alcohol concentration and two counts of felony bail-jumping.


-- ZACHARY J. WEST, 17, of 522 S. Blackhawk St., Janesville, with party to burglary, party to misdemeanor theft and party to criminal damage after a break-in in early August at Craig High School in Janesville in which gang graffiti was scrawled on walls, fire extinguishers sprayed throughout the school, a projection TV destroyed and electronic devices stolen.


-- MATTHEW D. TITUS, 17, of 187 N. Janesville St., No. 3, Milton, with delivery of marijuana and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a search warrant was executed at his home in mid-August.


-- JORDAN M. RIGGS, 17, of 1424 Sharon St., Janesville, with party to robbery after a Janesville reported being robbed of her purse, about $900 cash, jewelry, cell phone and other items in early July.


-- DENNIS D. MCGEE, 53, of 16 Albion St., Edgerton, with substantial battery after an Edgerton man reported being hit twice in the face and suffering a broken and dislocated jaw.


-- RODNEY C. NORDBERG, 18, of 2121 Pioneer Road, Janesville, and CHRISTOPHER C. WINCHESTER, 20, of 3631 W. Bass Creek Road, Beloit, both with party to burglary involving battery, party to substantial battery involving a weapon and party to criminal damage after a Janesville man reported that two men broke into his home Aug. 22 and beat him with their fists and a baseball bat. The victim needed staples to close the gash in his head.

Intoxicated driving arrests

-- DARRIN HOGAN, 22, Sussex, on Sunday on West Starin Road on the UW-Whitewater campus. He also was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.


-- TOMMY D. KAWALEC, 45, Springfield, at 8:16 p.m. Sunday on Interchange North west of Geneva Square shopping center. It was reported as his third arrest on a drunken-driving charge. Kawalec also was arrested on charges of open intoxicants in a motor vehicle and operating left of the centerline.


Accidents

-- WALWORTH AVENUE AND WATERWORKS DRIVE, DELAVAN. A Seneca Foods pea picker driven by Rogelio Rio, 37, no fixed address, Janesville, was eastbound uphill on Walworth Avenue when he lost power and rolled backward down the hill, knocking down a utility pole and power lines and coming to rest in Turtle Creek about 8 a.m. Wednesday. The Walworth County hazardous materials team responded because of concerns about runoff from the vehicle into the creek. The scene was blocked until 11:30 a.m. About five customers were without power for a few hours.


Reported

-- FORCED ENTRY AND DAMAGE to the clubhouse at the Hillmoor Golf Course on Highway 50 in Lake Geneva reported Aug. 25. The door and interior windows were damaged, knives were thrown into the walls and glasses were broken. No estimate was reported.
