Pot operation uncovered
JANESVILLE Rock County deputies eradicated many marijuana plants after they recently were made aware of what Sheriff Bob Spoden described as a sophisticated growing operation in the county’s northeast corner.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation continues, the sheriff said.
Because of the ongoing probe, Spoden declined to elaborate on specifically where the operation was found and on how much marijuana was involved.
Hunters scouting the area Aug. 23 for the upcoming hunting seasons came upon the site, which showed evidence of an organized, sophisticated operation, Spoden said.
