WCLO's Stan Stricker reports on current state of labor in south central Wisconsin

RSS

Labor Day is a good day to consider the state of jobs in South Central Wisconsin.

As we take time out to remember labor, Director of the Southwest Wisconsin Workforce Development Board Bob Borremans reminds us this an uncertain time for job seekers. He says recent lay off announcements have made many worker question their futures. He says there's hope on the horizon. Particularly in the next few years as "Baby Boomers" retire in droves. Borremans says the fields of high employability in the coming years includes health care, food processing, and transportation. The job market is changing though, and Booremans says workers have to change with it.

He says the types of job skills needed are rapidly changing.
