Sketch released in attempted abduction

— The Walworth County Sheriff's Office has released a composite sketch of a man suspected of attempting to abduct a young girl Sept. 26.

According to a news release:

An 11-year-old girl told investigators she was walking home near Brandi Street and Clearwater Court in Lyons Township at 3:20 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, when a sport utility vehicle with three men inside drove past.

The vehicle turned around and stopped next to her. The driver asked the girl to get into the vehicle, but the girl refused.

The driver then exited the SUV and grabbed her, trying to force her into the vehicle. The girl got away and ran home.

The vehicle was described as a 1990s black, four-door Jeep Cherokee with several dents on the front bumper and a red and white stripe down the sides.

The driver was a white man in his 30s with dark hair and a cross tattoo under his right eye.

Two young men with blond hair were sitting in the back seat.
