The woman reported the incident Tuesday. Police officials said she initially wasnít comfortable reporting the incident because she didnít want others to know about it.

According to Chief Matt Kiederlen:

The 18-year-old freshman was walking through the parking lot adjacent to the Williams Center on Warhawk Drive at 3:15 p.m. Sept. 24, when she was approached by a man she didnít know. He forced her into a car and sexually assaulted her.

The woman was not injured. She described her attacker as 24 to 26 years old, olive skin, about 6 feet tall, 240 pounds and a muscular upper body.

Kiederlen said police are stepping up patrols in the parking lot area.

Faculty, staff and students are reminded to take precautions when walking on campus alone, he said.
